Last night… & today’s menu!

Well, I was pretty proud of myself last night. I called my sister to find out what she was planning to make for our Bible Study snack so that I could plan ahead. She tells me that she is making APPLE DUMPLINGS!! These are one of my absolute favorites!! MMMM SOOOOO GOOOD!!! But- we figured out with only a 1/2 C of RF ice cream it comes to a hefty 10.5 point snack- and that’s with the reduced fat stuff too!! AND that was how many points I had left for the rest of the day! So- I changed my dinner plans from Chicken Enchiladas (9pts for 2!) to Baked potatoes & grilled chicken salad. That saved me a few points… but I figured I’d still have to cut into my flex points (which I’m trying desperately to save for a nice big piece of sour cream pound WEDDING cake on Saturday!!) So, we get there, do our thing & it comes time for dessert… the pastor’s wife had popped them in the oven during our discussion, but didn’t take the foil off & didn’t put them in early enough. So, we waited around for a while until she thought they were done. BUT, when they came out of the oven, the outside was kind of chewing instead of soft & flaky (b/c the foil got left on) & the apples were still fairly hard (b/c they didn’t get put in early enough) So, although I was bummed to not really enjoy one of my favorites, I was happy that they were a bit easier to resist. I ended up eating most of the apple & ice cream & left the crust to the side- it still tasted good, just not the usual goodness!! (Wasn’t my sister’s fault though…) THEN, when we got home, b/c I’d skimped on dinner to enjoy dessert- and then didn’t really fully enjoy dessert… I was hungry!! BUT, I added up my points & found that I was already at ZERO for the day, so I tried the big glass of water trick- it helped a little bit. I was still hungry, but decided to go to bed anyway. So, I’m happy that my will power stuck by me last night- I hope it keeps up until Saturday- I really want that cake!!! SC# is my absolute favorite!!! I haven’t had any since who knows when & the bakery who’s making her cake has some of the very best around!! Alright, I’d better shut up & get busy, I’m starting to drool- gotta stay focused!!
